ATHENIAN LIFE

4Mation proudly announce the release of another exciting educational CD-ROM for the autumn term. Athenian Life follows 4Mation's well established design format for Key Stage 2 interactive history simulations. The new CD-ROM provides a fascinating fact-finding adventure set in Ancient Greece.

The scenario

Teacher Mrs Diamond takes her class to the theatre to see the famous story of The Iliad, which was written by the poet Homer nearly three thousand years ago. Whilst at the theatre two of her children sneak off back stage to play with the actors' costumes. They try on some slave costumes and through the hidden magic in the costumes the children travel back through time to Ancient Greece. Once in Ancient Greece they are sold as slaves and they experience Athenian life to the full working for a Greek family. They soon learn that the gods ruled the lives of the Greeks and that family life is very different to what they have been used to. They also discover they will have to win the favour of the gods and goddesses to help them return back to their own time. Eventually the powerful goddess Athene decides to help the children, but only after they have helped her. The children are then allowed to return home.
